Sunday 17th May 26
We depart Cumbria in the morning and begin our journey to Ilfracombe. Comfort stops will be made en route, and we anticipate arriving in Ilfracombe in the late afternoon, just in time for dinner at the hotel.
Monday 18th May
After breakfast in the hotel, enjoy a full day at leisure to explore Ilfracombe, often referred to as the jewel of the North Devon coast. Discover its picturesque harbour, stunning coastal views, and a variety of shops, galleries, and local attractions at your own pace.
Dinner will be served in the hotel this evening.
Tuesday 19th May
This morning, we will be visiting the enchanting RHS Garden Rosemoor nestled in the Torridge Valley. The Rosemoor gardens are eye catching at any time of the year with several gardens to explore.
Later, we take a short coach ride to Bideford a worthwhile destination, particularly for those interested in coastal scenery, history, and family-friendly attractions. The town offers a mix of natural beauty, cultural experiences.
Dinner will be served in the hotel this evening.
Wednesday 20th May
A full day out today, heading to Lynton the clifftop village via the unique Victorian water powered funicular cliff lift,
Travel on a return journey and spending some time in Lynmouth, site of a horrific flood in 1952 before heading back to the cliff lift to return to the coach.
We will then head to Barnstaple a river-port town and civil parish in the North Devon district of Devon, England. The town lies at the River Taw's lowest crossing point before the Bristol Channel. From the 14th century, it was licensed to export wool from which it earned great wealth. Here we will have some free time to explore. Barnstaple offers a mix of historical attractions, shopping, and access to beautiful scenery.
Dinner will be served in the hotel this evening.
Thursday 21st May
This morning, we head over to Torrington, Dartington Crystal, a working factory. Here will have factory tour and time to look around the visitor centre.
Dartington Crystal is a British manufacturer of crystal glassware, based in the town of Torrington in North Devon, England. The company manufactures glassware using traditional glass blowing techniques.
Later, in the day, we'll take a scenic drive to Woolacombe for a relaxing afternoon by the sea. You may wish to enjoy a gentle walk along the coastal path to Morte Point, offering breathtaking sea views and the chance to spot seals along the way. Alternatively, simply unwind with a coffee or ice cream while soaking up the laid-back seaside atmosphere.
Dinner will be served in the hotel this evening.
Friday 22nd May
Today after breakfast we'll visit Bude Castle, a historic building that now houses a heritage centre, art gallery, and museum. After exploring the castle, you'll have some free time to enjoy Bude at your own pace. You might choose to stroll along the Bude Canal or grab a coffee or light bite at one of the local cafés or browse quirky independent shops in the town centre.
We'll travel back to the hotel in the early afternoon, giving you some free time to relax, pack, and prepare for our journey home tomorrow.
Dinner will be served in the hotel this evening.
Saturday 23rd May
Saying farewell to your hosts this morning and start our homeward journey with various comfort stops enroute.

Situated in one of the best positions in Ilfracombe, the Imperial Hotel overlooks Wildersmouth beach. Having a selection of bedrooms some of which have excellent views, available on request. All rooms have tea/coffee making facilities, hair dryer and Freeview TV with radio channels. Ironing facilities are available from reception.
The restaurant on the first floor has a bar and can seat 200 people. Freshly cooked full English Breakfast served at your table. Take your pick from freshly cooked bacon, sausages, fluffy hash browns, eggs cooked just the way you like them and more. We also offer continental options, with fruit, cereals and yoghurt
Three course evening meal, freshly cooked menu with vegetarian and vegan options served at your table, featuring many British Classics and with tea and coffee to finish.
