Join us on our coach excursion to Beamish, the Living Museum of the North. Fun for all the family.

Christmas at Beamish - the living museum of the north!

Step back in time to see for yourself what life was like in the Northeast at Beamish, one of Durham’s hottest tourist attractions.

Beamish is a world famous open air museum that tells the story of life in Northeast England during the 1820s, 1900s and 1940s.

Beamish is a living and working open-air museum which transports you back to the 1820s, 1910s and 1940s to celebrate the region’s rich heritage, brought to life by people dressed in authentic costumes.

Beamish stands in 300 acres of beautiful County Durham countryside. With so many things to see, Beamish is a wonderful day out for people of all ages.

Sunday

Following an early morning departure from the local area we journey to Beamish. Here you can enjoy a full day at Beamish, exploring the living museum of the north. Visit the many attractions Beamish has to offer including the working farm with a log/coal fire and the welcoming smell of freshly baked bread, the town with its array of Victorian shops and see how they used to shop in times gone by or for the kiddies, visit the school where the children can take part in a lesson using blackboard and chalk, no iPads in those days!
Navigate your way around using the many trams and old-style buses, a vast area to cover and so much to see and do. We will leave Beamish at 17:00pm for the journey home, arriving back in the local area early in the evening.

Beamish is a living, working museum, set in 300 acres of beautiful Durham countryside. Costumed folk bring to life the Town, Pit Village, Home Farm and Pockerley Old Hall.

Experience firsthand how the Industrial Revolution transformed agricultural life in the region. The buildings you see at Beamish are not replicas, but have been brought, brick by brick, from around the region and rebuilt to give visitors a real sense of history.
