Knowsley Safari Park “The Drive-Thru Zoo With Attitude”

 

Knowsley Safari Park is a large safari and wildlife park in Prescot, Merseyside, just outside Liverpool, where visitors can drive through a multi-mile safari to see animals like lions, rhinos, giraffes, zebras, and baboons roaming in open enclosures, then explore a walk-around area with smaller animals, shows, talks, and family attractions; it’s one of the UK’s longest-established safari parks and a popular day out for families, especially because of its drive-through experience and wide variety of animals.

 

 

Start with the Big Safari

Begin with the 5-mile Safari Drive, the UK’s longest drive-through safari where you’ll see lions, rhinos, giraffes, zebras, and more from the comfort of your vehicle, this alone can take about an hour or more if you take your time and catch the animals in action.

 

Stretch Your Legs on the Foot Safari

After the drive, park up and explore the Foot Safari at your own pace. Wander through the exhibits, visit the Amur Tiger Trail and enjoy keeper talks, sea lion displays or the birds of prey show if they’re on that day, these are both fun and educational ways to break up the day.

 

Optional Extras & Experiences

Consider extra booked experiences like the Baboon Bus Tour for a closer look at some cheeky residents, or other animal encounters if available.

 

Lunch & Relaxation

Break for a lunch or snack at one of the park’s cafés or picnic areas, perfect to relax and plan your afternoon.

 

More Exploring or a Second Safari Loop

After lunch, you can either go for a second loop of the safari drive to see different animal activity or revisit favourite spots on the Foot Safari. There’s also a gift shop to browse for souvenirs before you leave.

Animal Viewing

• All animals have access to shelter, so some may be less visible later in the day or during inclement periods of weather.

• Lions, giraffes, and rhinos

   may not be roaming or visible after 3:00 PM or in cold weather.

• We can not guarantee which animals will be visible

   so plan your visit accordingly and book an early arrival time for the best experience and allow yourself more than one tour of the Safari Drive.

 

Safety Around Animals:

• Do not feed the animals

  It can harm them. Visitors breaking this rule will be asked to leave without a refund.

• Animals are wild and may not always be visible at specific times or locations.

• We will drive through once, twice if possible with the exception of the baboon enclosure.

 

Visitor Safety:

• Seatbelts must be worn

   at all times.

• Children must not sit on laps

   while driving.

• All children must be accompanied by an adult.
