We depart this morning from your local pickup point and travel south to our hotel, with comfort stops along the way. We expect to arrive at the hotel in the late afternoon, in time for our evening meal.

Wed 21 July 27

This morning after breakfast we enjoy a relaxing countryside escape to Chartwell House and Gardens, the former home of Winston Churchill, set amidst the scenic beauty of the Kent countryside. Spend a few leisurely hours exploring the estate, including the beautifully preserved interiors of Churchill’s home, offering a fascinating glimpse into his life and legacy. Afterwards, continue on to the charming nearby village of Westerham, where you can enjoy a relaxed local dining experience or simply stop for a coffee and watch the world go by. Later, return to the hotel for your evening meal and unwind, rounding off a calm and picturesque day.

Thurs 22nd July 27

After breakfast this morning, we will enjoy a scenic drive to the coastal town of Hythe, where you’ll board the charming Romney, Hythe & Dymchurch Railway for a nostalgic steam train journey to Dungeness. Take in the unique ride through open countryside before arriving at Dungeness, renowned for its dramatic shingle landscape, striking lighthouse views, and atmospheric, almost film-like scenery. After time to explore, enjoy a light lunch in the area before continuing to Leeds Castle later in the afternoon. Here, you can discover the castle’s interiors at your own pace, wander through its beautiful gardens, lake, and grounds, and take part in the “Meet the Owls” experience (approximately 30 minutes), before heading back to the hotel for your evening meal, rounding off a varied and memorable day of heritage, countryside, and coastal charm.

After breakfast, set off on a scenic drive to Canterbury, where you’ll have free time to explore its charming medieval streets, independent shops, and inviting cafés, followed by a guided tour of Canterbury Cathedral. Later, we will continue with a short 30-minute drive to The Historic Dockyard Chatham, where your visit includes the popular “Call the Midwife” tour, before heading back to the hotel for your evening meal.

After breakfast, we say farewell and depart Kent with a comfort stop en route, arriving home during the early evening.
