Isle of Man and Classic Railways

After joining your coach at your selected pickup point, we travel to Heysham to catch the ferry to Douglas. Enjoy the crossing before continuing to your hotel on arrival, ready to begin your Isle of Man holiday.

Thurs 22nd April 27

After breakfast, you’ll board the Isle of Man Electric Railway in Douglas and travel north to Laxey. This coastal journey is one of the oldest electric railways in the world still in operation, and it offers great sea views along the way.

Once in Laxey, you’ll have time to visit the famous Laxey Wheel (also known as Lady Isabella). It’s the largest working waterwheel in the world and a key symbol of the island’s mining heritage.

From Laxey, you can then connect to the Snaefell Mountain Railway, which climbs all the way to the summit of Snaefell, the island’s highest point. On a clear day, you can supposedly see seven kingdoms. England, Ireland, Scotland, Wales, the Isle of Man, the sea, and heaven.

After taking in the views at the top, you’ll return back down to Laxey and then continue your journey back to Douglas via the Electric Railway. Heading back to our hotel later in the day to relax before our evening meal.

Fri 23rd April 27

After breakfast, you will visit the Isle of Man Motor Museum, where you’ll spend approximately four hours exploring its impressive collection of vehicles and motoring history.

Following your visit, you’ll return to Douglas, where you’ll have free time to enjoy lunch at your leisure.

After lunch, you will experience part of the famous Isle of Man TT course, giving you a sense of one of the most iconic road racing routes in the world.

You will then head back to your hotel later in the afternoon to relax and prepare for your evening meal.

Sat 24th April 27

After breakfast, you will set out on a scenic tour of the Isle of Man, taking in some of the island’s most beautiful and iconic locations.

Your journey will include a visit to the historic seaside town of Peel, home to the impressive Peel Castle, which sits dramatically on St Patrick’s Isle and offers stunning coastal views.

Continuing your tour, you’ll enjoy a drive through the island’s picturesque countryside, with opportunities to take in sweeping coastal scenery, traditional villages, and rugged landscapes that make the Isle of Man so unique.

Along the way, you may also pass key landmarks and viewpoints, giving you a well-rounded introduction to the island’s natural beauty and heritage.

Later in the afternoon, you will return to Douglas, where you’ll have time to relax before your evening meal.

Sun 25th April 27

This morning after breakfast, we will say farewell to our host and head for the ferry from Douglas to Heysham, before continuing on to Cumbria.
