Christmas in Scotland

We depart from Cumbria and travel north through the beautiful Scottish countryside towards Blairgowrie, with comfort stops along the way to stretch our legs and enjoy some refreshments. Arriving at the Angus Hotel and Spa in the afternoon, we check in, settle into our rooms and discover our festive surprise gift. In the evening, we join the Festive Fizz and Canapés Reception before enjoying a delicious dinner, followed by live musical entertainment and a chance to relax and soak up the wonderful Christmas atmosphere.

Thurs 24th Dec 2026

After a delicious full Scottish breakfast with Bucks Fizz at the Angus Hotel and Spa, we board our coach for an enjoyable excursion to the historic city of Perth, around 20 miles from Blairgowrie. Enjoy the scenic drive through the beautiful Perthshire countryside before arriving in Perth, where there will be time to explore the city centre, browse the shops that are open and admire the picturesque riverside views of the River Tay. After our visit, we return to the hotel in the afternoon to relax and soak up the festive atmosphere before joining the Festive Fizz and Canapés Reception. The day concludes with a delicious Christmas Eve dinner, followed by live musical entertainment and the opportunity to socialise, dance and enjoy the company of fellow guests as we look forward to the magic of Christmas Day.

Wake up on Christmas morning and enjoy a delicious full Scottish breakfast with Bucks Fizz before embracing the magic of Christmas Day at the Angus Hotel and Spa. Spend the morning relaxing and soaking up the festive atmosphere before gathering with fellow guests for a traditional four-course Christmas Day lunch, complete with all the festive trimmings. In the afternoon, enjoy Christmas cake while watching The King's Speech on the big screen, followed by time to relax and socialise. In the evening, tuck into a delicious hot and cold buffet and enjoy more festive cheer, making it a wonderful Christmas Day filled with good food, friendship and special memories.

After a leisurely full Scottish breakfast, we board our coach for a scenic Boxing Day excursion through the beautiful Perthshire countryside to the charming town of Dunkeld, around 11 miles from Blairgowrie. Enjoy the picturesque journey through the winter landscape, with views of the River Tay and the historic village, where there may be time for a short stroll and to admire the lovely surroundings, weather permitting. We then return to the Angus Hotel and Spa in time for a light Boxing Day lunch of homemade soups, speciality sandwiches and wraps. The afternoon is free to relax and enjoy the hotel's festive atmosphere before taking part in the Boxing Day Prize Treasure Hunt. In the evening, enjoy dinner followed by live musical entertainment, rounding off another wonderful day of Christmas celebrations.

After a final delicious full Scottish breakfast at the Angus Hotel and Spa, it's time to say farewell to Blairgowrie and begin our journey home to Cumbria. With happy memories of a wonderful Christmas break filled with festive food, live entertainment, dancing and the warm hospitality of the hotel, we settle back into our coach for the journey south. We'll enjoy comfort stops along the way, allowing time to stretch our legs and purchase refreshments before continuing home, arriving back in Cumbria with lovely memories of a truly special Christmas getaway.
