Walk where Roman Legionaires marched to war, Viking raiders wreaked havoc and Norman invaders conquered. Each chapter of Chester's history is etched into the very fabric of the city. Shopping is a double delight in Chester thanks to the 700 year old Rows, where you'll find England's oldest shopfront alongside the most unique independent shops, vibrant cafes and high street heroes. You might even spot the Town Crier, but make sure to cover your ears!

Chester Zoo (Ticket & Travel)

Walk on the wild side with over 20,000 animals with 128 acres of zoological gardens to explore.

Take part in a daily animal talk and feeding sessions where you can learn everything about your favourite animals. Witness Elephants frolicking around the pool, Orangutans swinging in the tree-tops and the Lions playing the best round of "sleeping lions" you've ever seen. Top it off with a visit to George's Sweet Shop or June's Food Court for a bite to eat. There is something for the whole family!

Itinerary

Morning departure from the local area, we journey to Chester. The coach will drop in central Chester before terminating at Chester Zoo. We will depart the Zoo at 17:00 and collect from central Chester at approximately 17:15 before travelling back to Cumbria.

The coach drop-off and pick up location in central Chester is the bus stop opposite the Crowne Plaza hotel, CH1 2BD (in front of the blue sign for Linenhall Car Park)
Children under the age of 1 can visit the zoo FREE of charge. Please select the 'Travel Only - Child' option when booking.
