The Cathedral city of Chester is the perfect destination to get away from it all. As well as offering diverse and top-class shopping, entertainment and dining venues, the city is home to many sites of historical importance and also boasts some of the UKs leading tourist attractions.
Chester Zoo
Discover over 11,000 wonderful animals and 400 different species including some of the most endangered in the world! From the magnificent elephants and rhinos to the delicate butterflies, there is a different animal to see around every corner of this amazing 110 acres of award-winning gardens. Marvel at our many new arrivals at Chester Zoo including our (not so giant) giant otter pups, black rhinos, Rothschild giraffes, orangutans, Asian elephant calves and our first ever okapi! Mind bogglingly big BUGS!
Our amazing exhibition of robotic giants includes stupendous scorpions, extra-large ladybirds and spiders that are anything but incy-wincy. Youll make some pretty amazing discoveries too. Like the fact that a dragonfly can fly at up to 60 miles per hour and a grasshopper can jump 20 times its own body length.
Enjoy daily animal talks, childrens play areas, themed gardens and a choice of restaurants and kiosks theres something to suit everyones tastes. Kids and grown ups will love the Zoofari monorail, it gives you a giraffes eye view of the zoo. Or, take things a little easier and relax on the Waterbus.
