Mon 13th Apr 2026
Morning departure from the local area, we journey to our hotel in Bristol with comfort stops enroute.
Tue 14th Apr 2026
After breakfast, we journey to Bradford-on-Avon. Here you can spend the morning immersing yourself in rich history and stunning architecture, enjoy some delicious food at a cozy riverside pub, explore the iconic 14th-century Tithe Barn, discover unique local shops and artisan boutique or even just take a wander along the scenic Kennet and Avon Canal. In the afternoon we venture into Lacock, England's most filmed village. Featured in Pride & Prejudice, Emma, multiple Harry Potter films and many more, Lacock allows you to wander straight into the 18th century. Feast your eyes on thatched and stone cottages. Revel in Tudor, half-timbered 'black and white' buildings. Lacock, on the southern edge of the Cotswolds, was once a centre of the medieval wool trade. Today it still reflects those times, and no TV aerials or overhead cables spoil the scene. You can even treat yourself to a visit into Lacock Abbey (ticket not included) founded in 13th century as an Augustinian nunnery and later the home of British inventor William Henry Fox Talbot. Returning to our hotel with plenty of time for our evening meal.
Wed 15th Apr 2026
After breakfast, we meet the knowledgeable Maeve Hamilton for a 2-hour guided tour of Bath. This tour will take us from the Royal Crescent on a skyline tour of the city, finishing with a short walk into the city centre before ending at the famous Bath Abbey and Roman Baths. Here you will have the rest of the day to spend at leisure in the city of Bath, inscribed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1987 for its Hot Springs, Roman archaeology, Georgian buildings and natural landscape setting. It was later given a second inscription in 2021 for being one of the Great Spa Towns of Europe! Returning to our hotel with plenty of time for our evening meal.
Thu 16th Apr 2026
After breakfast, we spend the morning walking in the footsteps of our Neolithic ancestors at Stonehenge - one of the wonders of the world and the best-known prehistoric monument in Europe! We then transfer for an afternoon visit to medieval city of Salisbury, famous for its spectacular gothic Cathedral which has the tallest spire in England. Returning to our hotel with plenty of time for our evening meal.
