We depart the local area early this morning and travel towards the beautiful Welsh coast, taking comfort stops en route. Sit back, relax, and enjoy the changing scenery as we make our way to the elegant seaside resort of Llandudno.
We are due to arrive late afternoon, giving you some free time to settle into the hotel and perhaps take a short stroll before tucking into a delicious evening meal, followed by entertainment to begin our festive stay in style.

Sat 12th Dec 2026

After breakfast, we depart for the beautiful Isle of Anglesey, making our first stop at the charming village with the famously long name - Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrn-drobwllllantysiliogogogoch (or simply Llanfair PG). Take a moment to snap a photo by the iconic station sign!
We then continue on to the picturesque seaside town of Beaumaris, known for its elegant Georgian architecture and lovely views across the Menai Strait.
Our journey then takes us to the historic town of Caernarfon, where you'll have time to enjoy lunch and explore at your leisure. Don't miss the magnificent Caernarfon Castle, one of Wales's most impressive medieval fortresses
Later in the afternoon, we return to the hotel for dinner and evening entertainment, rounding off a wonderful day of Welsh sights and history.

Sun 13th Dec 2026

After breakfast, we embark on a full-day tour beginning with a visit to the historic town of Conwy, famous for its mighty castle, impressive town walls, and three bridges that span the river - creating one of the most striking and picturesque townscapes in the country.
We then continue our journey to the harbour town of Porthmadog, where we'll stop to enjoy lunch and perhaps explore the shops or take in the beautiful coastal views.
In the afternoon, we travel back through the dramatic landscapes of the Snowdonia Mountains, passing through the former slate-mining town of Blaenau Ffestiniog, before making a short stop in the charming village of Betws-y-Coed.
We then return to the hotel for a relaxing evening meal and entertainment, after a wonderful day exploring some of North Wales's most scenic and historic locations.

Mon 14th Dec 2026

After breakfast, we bid a fond farewell to Llandudno not before enjoying some leisure time. Take a final stroll along the promenade or browse the shops before we begin our journey home.
Our route takes us to the historic city of Chester, where you'll have free time to enjoy lunch and explore this fascinating city, renowned for its Roman walls, magnificent cathedral, and unique Rows of medieval and Victorian shopping galleries.
Later, we continue our journey home to Cumbria, bringing our wonderful Welsh adventure to a close.

The Hydro Hotel is situated on the Llandudno promenade, the hotel is just a short walk from the resorts shopping area, traditional pier, Happy Valley Botanical Gardens, cable car and Great Orme Tramway. This grand hotel features a magnificent sun lounge, with spectacular view over the bay, a impressive restaurant, games room and large entertainment room with dancefloor, where you will find entertainment most evenings. Many of the hotel’s rooms have fantastic views of the bay or over the town to the Welsh mountains.

 

The en-suite bedrooms come with comfy beds for a great nights sleep, tea and coffee making facilities, flat screen TV with Freeview and radio and hairdryer. With a lift serving all floors.

  • Passenger lift to all floors.

  • There are 7 steps to the front entrance of the hotel however the rear entrance has a lift which goes from the car park up to the reception level. The hotel has nine ground floor rooms, however some of these do still have some stairs to access them. There is a large lift serving every floor, please note many bedrooms are on a split level with only a handful of rooms offering level access from the lift. Please ensure you let know when booking of any special requirements or any mobility difficulties which may affect your holiday.
