Morning departure by executive coach from your chosen pickup points, with plenty of comfort stop en route, arriving at our hotel in Weston Super Mare late afternoon with time to relax and enjoy the hotel facilities before the evening meal in the hotel.

Tues 5th Oct 27

After breakfast, we meet the knowledgeable Maeve Hamilton for a 2-hour guided tour of Bath. This tour will take us from the Royal Crescent on a skyline tour of the city, finishing with a short walk into the city centre before ending at the famous Bath Abbey and Roman Baths. Here you will have the rest of the day to spend at leisure in the city of Bath, inscribed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1987 for its Hot Springs, Roman archaeology, Georgian buildings and natural landscape setting. It was later given a second inscription in 2021 for being one of the Great Spa Towns of Europe! Returning to our hotel with plenty of time for our evening meal.

Wed 6th Oct 27

After breakfast today, we visit The Helicopter Museum before returning to Weston-super-Mare, one of Somerset’s best-loved seaside resorts. The remainder of the day is free for you to enjoy at leisure. Take a relaxing stroll along the wide sandy beach and traditional promenade, enjoying views across the Bristol Channel with plenty of opportunities to stop for an ice cream or classic fish and chips. A visit to the famous Grand Pier is highly recommended, offering amusement arcades, rides, cafés and wonderful sea views in a lively seaside atmosphere.

For a more peaceful experience, head to the Marine Lake area where you can enjoy quiet waterfront walks or simply sit and watch the changing tides. Weston-super-Mare also offers a good selection of shops, cafés and tea rooms, perfect for a leisurely browse and refreshment break. Those wishing to explore further may enjoy a walk up the hillside for panoramic views across the coastline and surrounding countryside. Later this evening, return to the hotel for dinner and a relaxing end to the day.

After breakfast today, we will head over to Clifton Observatory in Bristol for a visit.
We will then leave the remainder of the day at leisure for you to explore Bristol at your own pace, enjoy the city, or relax.
Later in the afternoon, we will return to the hotel for our evening meal.

Fri 8th Oct 27

We say farewell to our host this morning and begin our journey back to Cumbria, with comfort stops planned along the way so we can get refreshments, stretch our legs, and use the facilities, arriving back home early evening.

The New Ocean Hotel is a family run hotel situated opposite Weston’s famous Marine Lake and offering panoramic views over Weston Bay and beyond.

It is in an unrivalled position in the promenade, just a few minutes stroll to the town centre where guests can enjoy the numerous shops, theatres and attraction. The floral beauty of Grove Park and Prince Consort Gardens are also a short walk from the hotel. They have a large dance floor and provide a nightly entertainment programme in our comfortable bar/lounge with a fully stocked and licenced bar open throughout the day and late into the evening. The Ocean Restaurant prides itself on its freshly prepared extensive menu which combines the best of both traditional and modern cooking.
