We will depart Cumbria in the morning and begin our journey to Manchester, making a comfort stop along the way. Upon arrival, we will visit The Quays, where you will have the opportunity to explore the striking architecture of IWM North and its surrounding waterfront area. Later in the afternoon, we will continue to our hotel, where there will be time to relax and settle in before enjoying our evening meal.

After breakfast, we will head to the Manchester Museum of Transport, where we will spend approximately two hours exploring its fascinating collection. The remainder of the afternoon will be free for you to enjoy Manchester at your leisure.

We will return to the hotel late afternoon, giving you time to relax before our evening meal.

This morning, it is time to say farewell to your hosts as we begin our journey home. Before departing Bolton, we will visit the Bolton Steam Museum, where you will have time to explore. We will then continue our journey home.

Mercure Bolton Georgian House Hotel***

Built around a Georgian manor house and overlooking the spectacular West Pennine Moors, the Bolton Georgian House Hotel is ideal for guests wanting to blend comfort with style. Located just off the A6, this 3-star hotel is perfectly placed for guests to enjoy the best of both the countryside and the city. With on-site leisure facilities, meeting rooms and a dedicated restaurant and bar offering international cuisine, it's the prime destination for both business and leisure guests.

Repurposed as a hotel in 1966, the Grade II listed building was originally a doctor's surgery called Hilton House. While no longer the case, guests are still treated to the finest care. Situated close to the Pennines, the hotel is also a perfect base for shopaholics wanting to visit Manchester. Amenities include an informal restaurant and a relaxed lounge/bar. There's also a spa with an indoor pool, a fitness centre, a sauna and a hot tub.
