Whether you want a relaxing break or an action-packed trip, the Isle of Wight is the perfect destination.

Whether you want a relaxing break or an action-packed trip, the Isle of Wight is the perfect destination. This year we visit the beautiful island while it hosts the famous sailing regatta ‘Cowes Week’.

You don’t have to own a yacht or be a sailor to enjoy Cowes Week. The town is full of colour and entertainment throughout during the daytime and into the evening, so there is always plenty to see and do.

Saturday

An early morning departure with comfort stops on route we travel to Southampton for a short ferry crossing to East Cowes, arriving at our hotel in time for dinner.

Sunday

Today we take a trip on the Isle of Wight Steam Railway, while relaxing and exploring the beautiful countryside where memories are made. After lunch we visit the quintessential, romantic castle of Carisbrooke. Here you can meet the loveable donkeys and see them work, visit a fascinating museum and see the castle’s Edwardian style garden. Experience far reaching panoramic views from high castle walls and place yourself at the very heart of the Isle of Wight’s history. We will return to our hotel in time for dinner.

Monday

Spend today at your leisure. Why not take a stroll and witness one of the world's most famous sailing regattas 'Cowes Week'. Since being founded in 1826, it has always attracted the world's best yachtsman and yachts to compete, with many celebrities and even royalty taking part or spectating.

Tuesday

This morning we take a visit to Newport, located in the centre of the island with free time to explore the weekly market for shopping. In the afternoon we visit the picturesque village of Godshill, famed for its charming thatched cottages. Why not indulge in a local cream tea at one of the many traditional tearooms.

Wednesday

Following breakfast we take a panoramic tour of the island with stops at local points of interest, returning to our hotel in time for dinner.

Thursday

Today we visit Osborne House, the former residence of Queen Victoria who herself said “It is impossible to imagine a prettier spot.” Set in beautiful grounds, explore the house and gardens before we return to the hotel for dinner.

Friday

After breakfast we journey to Ryde, the largest town on the Isle of Wight with its stunning Victorian pier where you can walk the promenade and enjoy the sandy beaches, with your afternoon spent at leisure before returning to the hotel for dinner.

Saturday.

This morning we bid farewell to the Isle of Wight and journey home arriving in Cumbria early evening.
