Dumfries House Set in 2,000 acres, this stunning estate and 18th-Century house with its unrivalled collection of Chippendale furniture has something for everyone.

 

Saved by the intervention of His Royal Highness, The Prince Charles, Duke of Rothesay in 2007, Dumfries House combines the neoclassical architecture of Robert Adam with the furniture of Thomas Chippendale and leading 18th-Century Scottish cabinet makers. Visitors can explore this stunning 2,000 acre estate 365 days a year.

 

Dumfries House is one of Britain’s most beautiful stately homes with an outstanding collection of 18th Century Furniture including fine examples of the work of Thomas Chippendale.

Itinerary

Morning departure, with Reays luxury coach travel, for a day trip to Dumfries House located in Cumnock, Ayrshire. The house tour is booked in for 12 noon. This will give you the chance to view the highlights of the collection, the history of the house and its owners. Board the coach at around 5pm to return home.

Please note - Floors within the House may be uneven. Visitors should wear suitable footwear - stiletto heels are not permitted and all footwear must have a heel size no smaller than a £2 coin. We do not provide alternative footwear or foot coverings.

 

Photography of any kind and sound recording is not permitted within the House.

 

Food or liquids may not be carried or consumed on the tour route. If you have a medical requirement please consult a member of staff on arrival.

 

Mobile phones must be switched off while within the House.

 

Entrance to The Queen Elizabeth Walled Garden is payable locally. Tickets are £3.00 and can be purchased form the Visitor Centre.
