Monday:

Following a morning departure from the local area we journey to Grassington Dickensian Market. This is truly a fabulous day out nestled in the heart of the Yorkshire Dales, the picturesque village of Grassington is transported back to the time of Dickens, with shopkeepers, villagers and visitors dressed in Victorian costume. Just imagine soaking up the festive atmosphere of the cobbled streets, with a warming mulled wine or hot chocolate, next to the festive glow of an open brazier. Grassington offers a fantastic festive shopping experience, with a traditional Christmas Market in the village square and all the shops brimming with stunning Christmas gift ideas. Later this afternoon we rejoin the coach and travel to Harrogate where we check into our hotel and enjoy a mulled wine drinks reception, followed by dinner and live entertainment.

Tuesday:

After a hearty Yorkshire breakfast, we will travel to York to experience St Nicholas Festival. The annual Christmas fayre, set in the historic square, has continued since medieval times. The city comes alive with Victorian costumed traders, carol singers and delicious smells of the roasted chestnuts and hot chocolate laced with brandy. We will return to our hotel in time for a three course carvery-style dinner and yet another evening of great live entertainment.

Wednesday:

Today following breakfast spend today at your leisure and enjoy the stunning town of Harrogate with its boutique shops to hand However, be sure to be back at the hotel in the afternoon to rest your tired feet and take stock of all your shopping, when we will then spoil you with a sumptuous 'festive-themed' mini afternoon tea and a glass of festive fizz. This evening following dinner will again be live entertainment.

Thursday:

After a delicious full English breakfast, we travel to the famous Christkindlmarket in Leeds where over 40 traders from Frankfurt set up stalls at one of the UK's most established German markets. Unique gifts, hand-crafted jewellery and toys and traditional German delicacies including stolen, bratwurst, gingerbread and gluhwein are available. We will return to the hotel in time for more live entertainment following your tasty evening meal.

Friday

A tasty farewell breakfast will see you fit and ready for the road home but not before we head to Castle Howard. Created by Charles Howard in 1669, the house is beautifully decorated during the festive season and features live music, Christmas market stalls and audiences with Father Christmas - all making for a truly magical experience. Following free time at Castle Howard we continue our journey back home to Cumbria.
